Pablo dormiva ancora profondamente ed io non potevo fare a meno di guardarlo, cercando di fissare nella mia mente quelle espressioni di rilassatezza che lo rendeva senza armi agli occhi di chi lo osservava.
Da quel mercoledì sera ripenso continuamente ad una settimana prima. Ero con Pablo in un bar insieme ad una coppia di amici e qualche collega dell’ufficio stampa della galleria d’arte con cui collaboriamo in questo periodo. Alzando lo sguardo, vedo una mezza pazza, vestita con abiti davvero appariscenti, devo dire però di gusto, arrivare di corsa. Sbatte con la sua borsa sul tavolo colpendo il mio mojito che si rovescia. Quando incrocio il suo sguardo mi si ghiaccia il sangue nelle vene, una sensazione di ansia e stupore. Mi sembrava di essere allo specchio, solo che quella che avevo di fronte non ero io. Rimango immobile per qualche istante, occhi negli occhi con quest’altra me. Con molto imbarazzo per le emozioni che mi si affollano nello stomaco cerco di sdrammatizzare, facendo qualche battuta scema come al solito, Lei in meno di un minuto mi riporta il cocktail porgendomi le sue scuse. Trasuda sicurezza e fierezza da tutti i pori. Mi sento sovrastata, é come se tutto quello che avrei sempre voluto diventare fosse lí davanti ai miei occhi ed a quelli di tutti gli altri. A confronto. Mi sento legata, impacciata, immobile… Io, che di solito mi devono imbavagliare per farmi tacere…Guardai Pablo, che si era accorto del mio “disagio”, anche se non so se definirlo così, mi avvicinai a lui ed in tono scherzoso, grazie forse ai numerosi coca e rum, mi chiese se avevessi visto un fantasma. Nel frattempo quella donna si era dissolta nel vuoto da cui era venuta, nell’ aria il suo profumo legnoso, quasi d’incenso. Mi rimase un po’ di amaro in bocca, avrei voluto avere più tempo per capire se era tutto vero oppure una fantasia.
Il suono della sveglia mi riporta al presente. Pablo mi stringe augurandonmi il buongiorno. Tra le sue braccia mi sento al sicuro e avvolta da quella sensazione svanisce ogni paura. Inforco gli occhiali, sorrido, sfioro le sue labbra con un tenero bacio e annuso l’ odore del vento entrare dalla finestra. Parte una nuova giornata!
